ICA transformational projects include:
- GreenRise: a unique demonstration of a vintage building striving to continuously lower our carbon energy use through a $22M historic renovation and innovative energy efficiency project.
- Non-profit sustainability: ICA houses 20 nonprofits that serve 1000 vulnerable clients per week with healthcare, immigrant services, workforce development, entrepreneurial technical assistance, mental health, women’s services, and people’s pharmacy services.
- Affordable Housing: ICA's two intentional communities offer safe, comfortable housing for low-income individuals. Casa Monarca housing is for recent asylum seekers (12 families) receiving support in finding jobs, educating their children in neighborhood schools, and accessing health service agencies in the building. Another floor in the building houses 35 Greenrise Community residents with its space serving as a model ecovillage, living with minimal environmental impact and a reduced carbon footprint.
- Facilitation and Capacity building: ICA is an expert in participatory facilitation through its Technology of Participation (ToP)® methods. Communities, governments, and organizations use ToP methods to design and implement participatory planning and involve all stakeholders in strategic planning and decision-making processes that result in practical outcomes.
