Since 1970 ICA has been implementing community development initiatives around the globe. Recent years had seen a decline in ICA-USA’s global activity, but in March of 2010, ICA-USA decided it was time to re-engage in the global arena. Since this time, an international initiatives office has been created, and ICA-USA is re-exploring past relationships as well as creating new ones. There have been 18 international organizations that the ICA has decided to collaborate with, and research and development of what those collaborations might look like it currently underway.
The role of ICA International is to facilitate peer-to-peer interchange, learning and mutual support across the network, for greater and deeper impact. ICA International maintains consultative status with UN ECOSOC, UNESCO, UNICEF, WHO & FAO.
